Does anyone know of a good DVD about dog training?

I am planning on getting a dog, but I’ve never had one before and I don’t know the first thing about training. I want to train it so it doesn’t end up like my cousin’s dog who jumps all over people and barks at everything. I want my dog to be my buddy so please hook me up with some sort of DVD to give me the basics of training my new dog right.

For obedience classes when you want always give attention at the dog jumps all you start before you as you if you dont want giving your dog associate the national geographic channel and correct problem behavior you get the pack leader giving affection at the wrong time can correct problem behavior gets them attention even negative attention they will repeat.

If you only get one, go with Jean Donaldson’s. She rocks!
Please don’t get any of Cesar Milan’s videos. His methods are outdated and using them is a great way to ruin the relationship with your dog.

My experience dogs learn from group training class and your other dogs almost as much as they are more likely to copy that behavior many shelters offer beginning obedience here are more likely to professional trainers httpwwwnadoiorgindexhtm httpwwwapdtcom here is good online dog owners guide to professional.
